You know, the Big One to Europe.
The DC Writer's Workshops (at Redland Middle School) went really well. There was always this one moment - however long it might or might not last - when all the students, those that loved writing and those that struggled, were writing their own work. And as seems to happen every year, a few of them truly surprise us and surprise themselves. We even had one student, known more for his behavior issues than his passion for academics, who returned for a second round of writing on the second day. Moments like that make it worth the work, and the Redlands staff does that work every day. Props to all of them, especially my friend Chrissy, who brought the entire unit together, and to my cousins Lennie and Paco, two of the best hosts that I know. :)
Now I'm off to the South of France. I'll blog when I can.

Great questions over lunch at Redland!
Now Ive seen 3 of the 4 shuttles in their final resting places. This one, and the following pics, are at the Outstanding flight museum next to Dulles Airport. It's free and more than worth a visit!

Wonderful cousin and museum aficionado Lennie.
