The main fissure has recorded heights of up to 250' high, which then forms a river of hot lava that has been going for nearly a month now. Apparently once glowing, the top can cool pretty quickly, which would allow one to walk on it (do not try this at home) while channeling lava in a tube, essentially going do the path of least resistance. The inner tube can stay warm for months after it's expulsion from the fissure. Photo credit @michaelthemaven
