I used to think the political right would be forced to acknowledge the reality of climate change once it became so apparent it couldn’t be denied, but I recently had the bleak epiphany that the gun violence epidemic reveals how entrenched political perspectives don’t ease up in the face of a crisis, they seem to cement harder.
