Day 1,663: Short Memory

Professional athletes have short memories. So much of their work involves failure, they have to be able to let go of what has happened, and move forward. As writers (or any other kind of artist, really), we need to have short memories, too. Beating ourselves up over failure doesn’t help us, it only holds us back. We have to process that failure, feel it instead of run from it, and then let it go and keep moving forward.
