Rejection, stories ripped from real life and writer's block… Hampton Reviews asks the tricky questions

Today I've been given the third degree by Hampton Reviews. From their header they may look fluffy but that sweet smiling girl has a lust for blood, and not the vampire kind. How do I handle rejection? Do I ever use contemporary events or stories ripped from the headlines in my work? What do I find challenging and difficult about writing? What do I do about writer's block? Why do I write, full stop?
