Even after writing over a million words in story form, I still suffer the occasional (okay, more than occasional) brainfart and forget the basic rules of writing. Today’s brainfart was inspired by the use of a character’s name vs she/it/they pronouns. I worry about being too monotonous with all the “he said, she said” in a story, but when your main characters thrive on witty banter, I believe it’s better to err on the side of caution than confuse readers (or myself) on who’s saying what.
