When designing the cover for your book, do you get any input on what it should look like or does the artist "do their own thing"? :)

My publisher asked for my input before they began to work on the cover. I told them that I envisioned the cover a shade of blue with some sort of constellation design. The designer came up with a mock up, which my editor showed me and I absolutely loved it. Not much changed between the mock up and the final cover. I was very fortunate my publisher took my ideas and made them look amazing. Sometimes, though, authors have no input in cover design.
