the last editing pass

Copyedits came back, and now begins the last clean-up and massaging. Always bittersweet, this time. Every stage after the first draft is a kind of letting go: of great lines/scenes that just don’t belong, of moments that work for me but confuse my editor and betas, and now of the book itself.

I’ve settled on June 15 as the release date. Fly, Leviathan, fly.
