Six books for the fearless frequent flyer

I have always enjoyed the magazine, "The Week," immensely -- especially the section in which writers pick five or six of their favorite books.

This week I had the opportunity to choose books for the magazine.

And, given my interest in aviation and the research I did for "The Night Strangers," perhaps it was inevitable that I would decide to recommend six books about. . .plane crashes.

Ghoulish? Probably.

Fun? I hope so.

Here is the link to my recommendations for "The Week:" Six books for the truly fearless frequent flyer.

Safe travels. . .and happy reading.

Stephanie Interesting, although I don't fly much anymore, or maybe I should say at this time. I think that the book The Blasphemer sounds like an interesting read, that I will like to read, even though be it on the ground.

Amy The Blasphemer sounds good. I would probably read Highest Duty. I'm planning to read The Night Strangers, but these will probably be the only plane crash books that I read... I read the preview of The Night Strangers, and it seems really intense. I hate to fly already, and will have to make sure I don't have any trips planned immediately after or during any of these reads. I couldn't even watch Lost when it first came on, because we were planning to go to Vegas the following week! LOL

Chris Amy, I have been on 16 planes in the last two weeks. LOL Hang in there.

I have flown many times and once they even closed the airport RIGHT AFTER they let us take off, due to weather!! Yay, to New England weather!
I still get a small animal with claws curled up in my belly each time I take off, but its all cool and I would fly again without issue. By the way the (my) animal calms and pulls in its claws, with a little liquad fortification.

I hope you have since watched Lost. LOL

Amy @Stephanie, I just hate it! I feel physically ill every time we go anywhere, starts a couple of days before so usually my vacation is spent not feeling well, too. LOL, it sucks!

I did finally watch Lost, loved it! ;)

Stephanie That is horrible, to have that anxiety days before and then having it ending up messing with the whole vacation time. :(
That would not make me jump on the big trip vacations! More the "staycations" seem to be in line.
Yes, I loved Lost too.

Mguhin Big fan of THE WEEK magazine, particularly the books section. Gave half a dozen gift subscriptions to friends and family last holiday season, and plan to repeat this year.
