Everything Coming to Netflix, Amazon, Hulu in May 2018

May is just around the corner, and there’s a new batch of films and TV shows heading to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. Fans of The Matrix, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Rocky will be able to enjoy almost every movie in those respective series, as well as few notable streaming debuts from last year. Overall, though, it’s another quiet month for original streaming series and movies. Before we get to the complete lineup for May, here are some highlights coming your way.

Orphan Black

Attention Clone Club: the fifth and final season of BBC America’s Orphan Black is coming to Amazon Prime on May 12. The ten episodes wrap up the story of Sarah and her clone sisters Cosima, Helena, and Alison as they unravel the last mysteries of their creation and face their uncertain futures. Now that the show has come to a close, fans also have the opportunity to binge watch the entire 50 episode run.

Cargo



Sherlock star Martin Freeman is fighting zombies in Cargo, a Netflix original film set to drop on May 18. Freeman is playing Andy a man who finds himself stranded in Australia with his infant daughter, Rosie, during a zombie apocalypse, with few friends or allies to call his own. To make matters worse, Andy is infected as well, and he has only a short period of time to find a new home for Rosie before he turns.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

There’s a new season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt slated to drop on Netflix on May 30, and we’re hoping that one of our favorite sitcoms manages to keep its momentum going. We don’t know much about what Kimmy, Titus, and the rest of the gang will be up to in the fourth season. However, it has been announced that Busy Philipps is coming to the show. But details about Philipps’ character and story haven’t been revealed yet.

I, Tonya

Margot Robbie‘s Oscar nominated turn as disgraced figure skater Tonya Harding is coming to Hulu on May 31, and it successfully makes its lead character into a sympathetic person. I, Tonya also boasts a strong supporting cast led by Allison Janney, who took home the Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as Hardy’s mother,  LaVona Golden. Beyond Robbie and Janney, the comedic standout is Paul Walter Hauser as  Shawn Eckhardt.

Please Stand By

Do you love Star Trek? If so, you may find a lot to like about Please Stand By, a film about a young woman whose Trek fandom is a vital way for her to deal with her Asperger’s syndrome. Dakota Fanning plays the leading character, Wendy, and the film follows her as she runs away from her caregiver to submit her Star Trek script to a writing competition. It wasn’t widely seen when it was released earlier this year, but Hulu will give it a second chance to find an audience on May 31.
