With arthritis in my big toe joint of the right foot, two surgeries there under my belt, and the burning need for comfort above all else, high heels are not my thing. So when I was invited to a party where the dress code was "jerseys" and "jeans", I didn't give a thought to my shoes but once I did, I thought, I need red high heels. WHO AM I?
And since I'm the queen of drama and long involved stories, I thought, I'll never find shoes with five days to go till party time. Well guess what?
AND ON SALE, TOO! And they had my size! Can we say "meant to be"? The tiny drawback was that the matching bag was full price so I let that go, since I had a red wristlet that matched well enough and did the job.
I found out the morning of the party that my friends were waring whatever "crown jewels" aka BLING they had since this was a Bar Mitzvah, a party that would normally be very dressy. Cool! Jewelry and Red F*ME shoes!
The downside? A haircut that week so though I loved the color, I needed another week for it to "fall in". But for the sake of this blog, here you go!
Whew. I even managed to dance in them for awhile … until I thought I might not walk again, but never fear … a little while barefoot and sitting and all was well. So I danced in my bare feet for the rest of the night and had a BLAST!
What about you? Heels or flats? As someone who lives in Ugg Slippers in winter and flip flops in summer … you know my pick! But for one night, wearing what a guy in a romance novel would call RED F* ME SHOES was pretty cool!
