Hi,

I’m a bit late in posting this, but Regretful Revenge is live!!

Derek and Zara’s story is a short story of revenge, love and second chances.

Zara and Derek used to be close. Zara had thought that if she told him she was in love with him, he would tell her he felt the same.

Instead, he threw her away from him as if she was contaminated.

Two years later, Zara’s brother Adrian has risked their family business, and he needs Derek’s help to save it. Zara goes to a meeting with Derek in her brother’s place to request his help, hoping time had erased the bad feeling between them, but it doesn’t go to plan and soon she finds herself forced into a situation she doesn’t want all in the name of revenge.

Here is an excerpt-

After two years of not setting eyes on Derek, except in her dreams, Zara had expected him to have changed, but he hadn’t. Not one bit. The look in his chocolate coloured eyes was full of contempt. She’d thought, or had at least deluded herself into thinking that he’d let her plead her case, or rather her brother’s, but it didn’t look like he would. In fact, his glare told her he wouldn’t, it never left her from the minute his secretary announced her to when she sat in the chair he’d pointed to when she’d walked in. He didn’t allow her to speak. As soon as she opened her mouth, he shook his head.

“No.” He said in a voice laced with ice. She shivered remembering the last time they’d spoken, and he’d used that voice on her. “Your brother has fucked up and now he’s going to pay for it, along with you, Zara.”

Stunned at the venom in his tone she could only stare at him with a sick feeling in her stomach.

He shook his head again. “You can go now.” He dismissed her.

Like a puppet on a string, she stood feeling like she was in a bad dream. When her hand closed around the door handle, she turned to face him flinching at the look of disgust on his handsome face. “Why did you agree to meet me?”

He shrugged. “I wanted to see if you looked the same as you did two years ago when you threw yourself at me.”

Zara turned back to the door and opened it without comment. She didn’t want to think about that night.

He spoke again, his words following her out of the door. “You still look innocent, but I see through your act now. I see the manipulative tramp you really are.”

Happy Easter everyone!
