A Pub Quiz, a Hangover, and a Dog Walk
Easter Greetings,
It’s 10.00 AM on Good Friday morning, and if I’m honest I feel a little worse for wear. I went to a pub quiz last night (we came third and won an enormous Easter egg in the raffle), and not only did I drink a little too much, I went to bed two hours later than usual, so could have done with a few extra hours in bed this morning. Nobody told the dogs! So I was up by six as usual, and by twenty past was having any threat of a hangover stripped away by the cold. We had a sharp frost last night, and while the dogs bounded around joyfully, my feet crunched through the crispy grass and my head slowly cleared. A carpet of low fog slowly dispersed, and as the sun rose from behind the trees, a fabulous full moon was making its exit. It was a glorious walk, and one I would have missed if I’d listened to my body and not the dogs. So, Good Morning, wherever you are, I hope your Easter Weekend gets off to a good start.
Walk over, my body is now telling me I should sleep again, but there’s work to do first. An Unexpected Gift, the second in the Bearing Witness series, is in the final stages of editing and being formatted for print. Over half of the readers who received an advanced copy have reported back, and I’m relieved and delighted to say that they enjoyed it. A few suggestions have been received and acted upon, so now I can relax . . . in theory. The trouble with releasing a book, is you have to tell people about it, which means doing all the stuff I least like about being an author. So, I’m going to get on with it before I treat myself to a toasted hot cross bun, and perhaps a little nap.
An Unexpected Gift will be published on the 7th April 2018 – it is currently available for pre-order, at the reduced price of 0.99 – it will go up to full price on the 9th. Be quick if you want a bargain.
HOWEVER – a few of the advanced reader team had not read the first in the series, Witness for Wendy, and said they wished they had, SO, if you’ve not read Witness for Wendy and would like to, to celebrate the release of An Unexpected Gift, I have also reduced the price of that to 0.99, but only until the 7th April. Click the covers or the highlighted text to pick up your copies.
That’s it, no writing will get done today, but with an early night, and after another invigorating walk tomorrow, I will get back to poor old Meredith who’s been left in waiting in the wings this week.
Have a wonderful Easter holiday
Happy reading,
