Authors With Cats: Meet Apollo
Today, meet Apollo, a cat with attitude! Apollo is the cat of author SJ Sinhu.
Apollo by SJ SinduThis is Apollo, but he only answers to Kittay. Not Kitty. Kittay pronounced KEE-TAY. He comes when he's called, and takes the superiority attitude of cats to a whole new level.

Hello!
Kittay and I have been together a long time. I actually got him the same summer I started working on my first novel, Marriage of a Thousand Lies. He was four years old when I got him from a friend of a friend who couldn't take him with her when her family moved. For three days, he hid behind the TV and growled whenever anyone got close, but on the fourth day, I was at home writing on my laptop. Kittay came out from behind the TV, climbed onto my lap, and fell asleep. And that was that.

Working on a screenplay.
Kittay continued to sit with me while I wrote and rewrote the novel for the next five years, and while I went through the three-year emotional rollercoaster of publishing. I'm so grateful for his shenanigans and support.

Apollo thinks the manuscript is looking good.

SJ Sindu is the author of the novel Marriage of a Thousand Lies (Soho Press, 2017) and the hybrid fiction and nonfiction chapbook I Once Met You But You Were Dead (Split Lip Press, 2016). http://sjsindu.com
