When No is a Glorious Promise from God (and a Giveaway)
The answer was NO.
I sat quietly listening to the explanation as everything fell apart, and my dreams for the day slipped out of my shaky fingers.
I’d held on tightly for so long — I thought if I just tried harder or prayed longer I could keep everything in my grasp.
But the answer was NO.
A piercing cry rose up from my heart. Why God? Why? Why? Why?
I wanted to understand. but I just couldn’t think of one positive outcome from this obvious mistake.
I spent the next 24 hours sulking in bed. I wanted to stay in my pajamas permanently and pretend NO had never happened.

No Love
No Forgiveness
No Approval
No Gratitude
No Cooperation
NO never seems to play nice.
NO is exhausting.
NO makes me feel hopeless.
Friend, if you’ve heard a hard NO this week, you are not alone.
NO is a bully, and I decided to fight back by picking up my Bible. And you know what I learned? God can transform NO into a glorious promise.
10 Ways No is a Glorious Promise from God
No defeat
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17, NKJV
No shame
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1, NIV)
No impossible situations
For no word from God will ever fail. (Luke 1:37)
No disaster
No harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. (Psalm 91:10)
No Fear
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (I John 4:18)
No overwhelming temptation
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (I Corinthians 10:13)
No Sin
I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. (Isaiah 43:25)
No Death
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. (Revelation 21:4)
No Sadness
And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there, and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. (Isaiah 35:8-10)
No Limits
Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit. (Psalm 147:5)
