Last weekend, in the city of Houston, over 60 authors came together for
Books are Bigger in Texas
It was crazy hot and humid (my car dash indicated it was 90 degrees when we pulled out shortly after four p.m.), but this didn't phase anyone's good time. We had a unique signing inside an airplane hangar... with a helicopter and a plane!
The sun was shining, the breeze was blowing, the hangar doors were open, and everyone was smiling. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Signing weekends are always a whirlwind. In the weeks leading up to, and then the weekend of the event, everything seems to speed up and become a checklist:
order books... check
build raffle basket... check
order table graphics... check
build swag bags... check
It gets a little easier each time, and it is ALWAYS worth it in the end. I don’t get out much, but with each event I attend, I’m amazed by the feeling of family reuniting. To have a lily pad in this big ol’ pond is pretty cool, because this book world we live in right now, is pretty friggin’ amazing. The readers, the bloggers and event hosts, the authors… I’m so proud to be part of it. Thank you to Kellie Montgomery and Eye Candy Bookstore for hosting such a unique experience. Mad thanks to everyone who stopped by my table. Y’all rock.
