Agni (sharmishtha basu) Talks about Movie and Music 12.3.18 When a monster calls

As I was planning to share when a monster calls with you I stumbled upon another fabulous movie- The hunt for wilderman (do check out the accurate name, the movie was released in 2016. Had Sam Neil in it)!

Honestly speaking, I don’t want to be rude or anything because I have no problem with those who make sequel after sequel. After all, there is nothing wrong with trying to earn your own bread and caviar as long as you are not harming the society. So lately the superheroes and Xmen and their permutation and combination was driving me to coma. Bro loves watching these movies and they … boy they bore me to death! I enjoyed first three Xmen movies, none of the avengers, ironman etc (forget about batman or superman or spiderman, guardians of galaxy….) so with all due respect to the creative rights of these creators I as an audience was steadily checking out movies shot before 1970 when there were storylines and variety of them too!

Then these two movies showed up, like rays of hope, along with Tim Burton’s take on kids with super-power, honestly I rather loved his movie about kids with special powers, lot more than the recent superhero(ine) movies! It was a fresh breath like chronicles of Narnia. You can try out “Miss Peregrine’s home for special children, if our tastes of movie resemble you will like it!)

Well back to the movies I was talking about “When a monster calls” and “The hunt for wilderman (?)”. First one is an amazing story of a young kid struggling with his mother’s terminal disease. It is a spending work of acting, editing and storyline! In one word it is awesome! Watch it and you may start loving it!

The hunt for wilderman on the other hand was a really pleasant surprise! I was not expecting the “wildermen” to be who they were! It is another awesome movie, in which a “trouble kid” from an orphanage finds himself living with a “very odd couple”… watch the movie and somehow I have a feeling that you won’t regret it, after all, you are my regular reader so I can guess our tastes resemble!

I will give all these movies- all three of them a five star, and as they did not make much ripple in the media do check them out before next blockbuster swallows them and they become really tough to find!

Happy viewing! And do let me know if you liked them!
