Is Self-Publishing for You: A Workshop

This year’s Woodstock Bookfest is coming up fast, and it’ll be chockful of great author panels, workshops, presentations, and the always-fabulous StorySlam.

I’m especially excited to tell you that I’ll be leading a mini intensive workshop on self-publishing on Friday, March 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Kleinert/James Arts Center in Woodstock, New York.

If you’re a writer in the Hudson Valley area (or are planning to attend the Bookfest), then I want to talk to you. Maybe you’ve thought about self-publishing that novel, that memoir, that how-to book. But you don’t know how to start. Or if it’s right for you. Maybe someone told you that it’s really hard, or ridiculously expensive, or you have to do it all yourself. But it doesn’t have to be any of these things. It can even be…fun.

In this four-hour mini intensive, we’ll take a good deep dive into the world of self-publishing—from what you should do before you even publish, to the importance of developing a support network, to how not to get taken for a ride by predatory publishers and other scammers.

If you’d like to learn more, check out the Bookfest website, designed by the uber-talented Nan Tepper. (She also did the logo at the top of the page.) If you have any questions, please email me at laurieborisauthor@gmail.com. If you’d like to register for the workshop, or any of the other events, zip on over here. Thank you!
