Im sure this really boils down to what you get out of comics, but it seems weird seeing guys pump out 40+ issues in 5 years struggling with money/health, compared to someone like you doing a dozen issues (art-wise for both of these btw), seeming pretty ok

I dunno, money is different things to different people.

I’ve been really lucky in that I have a publisher and some other jobs that I can rely on for steady money when I need it,(Shoutout to Woodrocket!)  but also I don’t have kids or own much of anything that isn’t comics. 

I had a weird reaction to burning through most of my savings last year–  I was excited because I HAVE to draw more. Even with it being my favorite thing to do it’s still something that I don’t do as much as I want to. but also you’ve gotta live a life, read books all day, go for long walks and pet cats.
