Moon Song #3

This poem was written as a part of the topic ‘Golden Pole on the Ice Field’ in a private group in Facebook. My love for moon resulted in this poem. Read on!

Scars of different shapes

adorn its pure body,

punctuate its resplendence.

But those scars, golden scars,

are exceptionally beautiful

on its ambrosial texture.

Black to the distant eye.

Golden to the people

who have walked on it.

The scars have a purpose.

The golden scars are that

which give a completion to it.

But the moon never laments.

It proudly flaunts the scars

to the entire world.

The golden, golden scars.
