Sequel #2 - In Progress A

...Lawyer says I have to say it...

I realize before I ask your input you kinda need at least some very basic facts leading up to the segments I am working on. Having said that, ******SPOILER ALERT******

The sequel starts with a new character that is going thru UEF Orientation and a couple pilots going thru the pilot training program. The government is still plotting against the UEF and new relationships are forming.

The segment I am at right now is the impending Zorn fleet is approaching Earth. There's a twelve hour waiting period where everyone is on edge while they wait for an update and then they must wait an equal amount of time after the update, before the battle starts.

I am looking to add a couple character development scenes, during this waiting period. I'm eager to hear your ideas, maybe I'll incorporate a few.

Oren Hi Brian!

I just finished "Galactic Startup". I like the book, it reminds me of Heinlein's "Star Troopers", but less militarily driven.
You have a few spelling/grammar mistakes in it, and maybe I'll point them out to you at a later date, if you like.
** SPOILER ALERT **
As for the next book - I thought you put Amanda's Huntington Disease there for a possible twist in the story later on, where they find a way to help her using the Zorn biology. Maybe it's just me.
Also, there is not enough focus on the other characters of the founders - only on Alex. So it might be a good idea to give them more central role in the next book. The disagreements between Alex and his friends seems disembodied because there is no "meat" to their characters. They're just props. The skeleton of the trilogy is sound though. Builds for a good saga.

Your right, it seems, me, my editor, and eight beta readers missed em. There are like weeds... Amanda's disease does come into play later, but not in a way that's predictable.

As far as Alexs friends, I am on it.. They start to get out from Alex's shadow in book two.

I am aiming for an eight to ten book series. Now that I am spreading my literary legs, the following books ought to be longer as well.

Thank you so much for your post !

I'm glad I was right about the saga part. But that's a hefty series. I thought I read on your Amazon page that galactic startup is supposed to be a part of a trilogy and then there'll be a couple of different trilogies.

"My three favorites would be the space opera series I am working on now. Later, I'll pursue a dragon rider series and finally fictional series on heaven and hell."

I pulled this from my page. I think this is the section your talking about. The space opera will certainly be a longer series. I plan on a lot of first contact situations. I think If I manage to turn writing into a full time deal, Ill start the dragon rider series and go back and forth between the two.
