The worst book you’ll ever read
“White Tree Sound.” This is the worst book you’ll ever read. And the best. But definitely the worst.
When I was ten, I combined a wild imagination with a healthy dose of fan fiction revolving around now-iconic 80’s movies and toys to create the ultimate fantasy world. Dead-end subplots? Inconsistent characters? World building gone awry? YES. Do you know anything about story structure? Because I didn’t.
Fast forward to now. I found the story and decided it’s so terrible, it’s magnificent! Why not set a book in a nonsensical fantasy world? Two characters – a villain and his author – must navigate a world created by a ten year old that’s filled with spaceships, a labyrinth, unicorns, gremlins, Freddy, popples and more. For our heroes to finish their quest, they must return to the beginning and complete the only story that’s ever mattered – theirs.
Rescue a princess, fight a care bear, and rewrite the rules as you go. How can this possibly be anything but the best worst book you’ll ever read?
