Valium and Me

When my sons had their wisdom teeth out, the oral surgeon prescribed a Valium tablet to calm them down beforehand.  None of my own surgeons or urologists suggested this.  After my second surgery put me into white-knuckle panic all the way to the hospital and a near screaming fit in the hospital itself until they let Darwin come into the room, and when it became clear I was going to have still more surgeries and procedures, I started asking for a Valium tablet.

Dr, L--, the urologist in question, willingly gave me the scrip each time, and when I filled it, I got a single tablet to take in the morning at home before surgery, and it helped quell the howling panic.

So when I was scheduled for yet another (but hopefully final) procedure this Friday, I asked Dr. H--'s office for a Valium scrip.  The nurse said she would message the doctor about it and call back.  A few hours later, she did so.  The scrip had been sent to the pharmacy.  A bit later, I got a text from said pharmacy that the Valium scrip was waiting for me.

On the way home from work, I picked up the medicine.  But when I got home, I realized the bottle rattled more than usual.  I popped it open.  A dozen Valium tablets!

Good heavens!  How anxious did they think I would be?

Well, now I have a supply.
