Consciousness Without Communication

[image error]Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are hot topics these days. When I think about conscious mechanisms I imagine that they will be useful for all kinds of things – driving me around, cheering me up, gathering knowledge and providing insight for me. At the most basic level, I envisage a smooth, yet slightly robotic constructed consciousness speaking to me and saying wise, witty and wondrous things.

But imagine that such a machine were set in motion and then never spoken to....
