Writing Update

I'm going to be honest--I'm not a natural blogger. Part of it is that I'm simply not good at short form writing. Anyone who's read my books knows that I tend to err on the side of too many words rather than too few, and my blog is no different. Which means I don't blog that often, because it feels like a writing project in and of itself.

Because of that, I've decided that I'm going to simply things a bit. I figure if I can keep you guys in the loop with less effort, I'm more likely to post mor...

h o l l i s I love your blog posts, long OR short. this was a great little update though and so exciting to hear about your excellent progress with Ghost!

as for the newsletter (also excite!) I think excerpts are a great idea. something to tease and torment us with. if you're into that sort of thing. ; )

Hello and thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the posts, because I feel more like I'm blundering through a blizzard than capably utilizing a format of writing. Nice to hear it's better than I'd thought!

As for the other, I hadn't thought of an individual excerpt for the newsletter, and that's a great idea. I'm really into teasing and tormenting, so I think that'll work well. Wonderful feedback, thank you!

As for the build-up to release thing, though...do you think you'd rather have a sentence or two every day or something bigger once a week?

Well, you weren't asking me.... but it's not like that ever stops me. ;) I'd prefer weekly to daily. I'd also vote for blog vs Facebook, but that's just because I don't do FB.

And I have to say that I love your blog. So, short posts or long posts, whatever you prefer, I'll be reading it.

Oh, thank you for jumping in! The more feedback the better! And you're definitely not the only reader I have who doesn't use FB, so I think it'll be a good idea to shift the pre-release stuff to my own site for this new book. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the blog, btw, thanks for mentioning it! ;D
