“I wanted to tame

my wild side. I thought

there was no sin

in seeking peace

from myself, in pursuing

soft intentions.

She took insult

and being wild

determined to destroy

the one who would

destroy her.

With gleeful

promises, she led

me into the darkness

and sealed me here

stone by stone,

howling that we

would never be tame.

Separated from half

her soul,

she grew quietly

wilder, slowly maddened

into melancholy.

Soon she will wish

to dance in the moonlight

and find her steps stayed.

She will descend

into the earth,

dig me free

stone by stone

and we will howl

together

at the moon,

whole again.”
