Từ cơn gió thoảng

Từ làn mây trôi

Từ hơi biển mặn

Từ phía mặt trời

Nước vẫn muôn đời

Không đi chẳng đến

Water

From where the water comes

To where the water flows

From a small stream

From a deep river

From a steep ravine

From beneath the bridges

From a massive flood

From falling raindrops

From a breeze of wind

From a floating cloud

From salty sea air

From the sun’s rays

Water forever

neither comes nor goes

Who has the heart to ask

from where the water comes

I put on myself a white rose

Chảy khắp châu thân

Chảy tràn ra mắt

Chảy vùi bên tai

Dòng sông không tắt

Memorial service for a river

Dear river, just keep flowing

keep flowing to the sky

keep flowing to the ocean

keep being a sweet stream

keep being a high waterfall

keep swirling and gushing 

keep becoming the howling wind

keep becoming the floating clouds

Dear river, just keep flowing

flow all over the body

flow throughout the eyes

flow all through the ears

The river doesn’t give up

The river flows forever…

Vè thiền tập

Thả lỏng toàn thân

Như treo móc áo

Ngồi xếp bằng tròn

Vai ngang lưng sổ

Dõi theo hơi thở

Như mượn từ xa

Khi vào khi ra

Khi sâu khi cạn

Chú tâm quãng lặng

“Pranasati”

Hơi thở xẹp xì

Thân tâm an tịnh

Không còn ý tưởng

Chẳng có thời gian

Hạt bụi lang thang

Dính vào hơi thở

Duyên sinh vô ngã

Ngũ uẩn giai không

Từ đó thong dong

Thõng tay vào chợ…

Meditation verse

Relax your whole body

just like to hang clothes on a coat hanger

Sit in cross-legged position

with your back straight, shoulders horizontal

Focus your mind on the breaths

just like borrowing something from afar

Breathing in and out

Breathing deep and low

Focus your mind on the quiet between

“ Pranasati ”

When the breaths almost vanish

your mind and body become still and pure

Thoughts cease to exist

Time  disappears

Only the wandering dust

attaches to the breaths

See that all things are dependent arising and non-self

See that the five aggregates are emptiness

Thereafter you can leisurely

enter the marketplace.
