Everest, Nepal and Jimmy Carter

I am delighted to announce the publication of my latest book “Everest, Nepal and Jimmy Carter”. The book is already on sale at internet bookstores in Finland and Amazon.de, and it is expected to be listed for sale within a few days at Book Depository, Amazon and other internet bookstores in Europe.

“Everest, Nepal and Jimmy Carter” is my second English-language book after “India and Nepal – Truth is stranger than fiction” published in 2016. I started writing the book as early as 2014 when it was 29 years since the Everest trek. My intention was to publish the book for the 30th anniversary of the Trek, but writing it was a laborious and slow project that took three and half years. However, writing the book of the Everest trek was rewarding, not just because it was one of my best time in my life.

I travelled there for five weeks together with my Finnish, Australian and New Zealander friend. It was quite a memorable trip. The monsoon lasted longer than mid-October, making the Everest trek a lot more demanding than usual. As we waited for the weather to improve in the village of Namche Bazar, I encountered a former President of United States who had come to visit Nepal. For years, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter had been making plans for a Nepal visit and, finally, in early 1985, they decided to travel to Nepal and see Mount Everest, the highest mountain of the world.
