“India and Nepal – Truth is stranger than fiction” has also been published in Kathmandu

Helsinki Book Fair will be held in Helsinki, Finland from 26th to 29th October, 2017 and my first English-language book “India and Nepal – Truth is stranger than fiction” is on display and sale at the publisher's stand. Last year, the book was published by Books on Demand, and both the hardcover and paperback editions are on sale at international online bookstores like Book Depository and Amazon.

Now, the book (India and Nepal – Truth is stranger than fiction) is also published in Kathmandu, Nepal by Himalayan Map House. The Nepal’s edition is already available for sale at the Explore Book Service in Thamel, Kathmandu and within a few days at most Kathmandu bookstores. I am deeply grateful to Pawan Shakya at the Himalayan Map House and Bhuban Shrestha at the Explore Book Service in Kathmandu for the publication of the book.

When I first time visited in Kathmandu, Bhuban Shrestha sold books in a small bookstore in Thamel, Kathmandu. The bookstore was at that time only a little bigger than the chicken coop, but full of books. I spent a lot of time in the evenings there and sat in a small stool at the corner of the bookstore and drank Nepali milk tea. We changed the seats for a couple of nights with Bhuban Shrestha. I was sitting behind the sales desk and started selling books and maps with some success for astonished tourists who hadn’t seen a white man selling books in Kathmandu. At that time, I was dreaming about my own book for sale at Kathmandu bookstores and now 32 years later, it has come true, thanks to Pawan Shakya and Bhuban Shrestha.

I will soon share some more news on the coming books.
