Proposal Short Story - What shall he say? Yes or no

This image is for proposal short story
Tanvi's mornings usually kick-started at a local park. On a usual day, she would have appreciated the sunrise, damp green grass, and the fresh air. But today was not usual. It was an unusual day for her. Tanvi was waiting for Ram. She had a small box in her hand. She opened the box. It had a gold ring. She touched the ring warmly and closed the box. She kept it in her pocket. She was nervous as any girl would be to say those words. She was hoping for a positive reply. She prayed that they at least we remain, friends if he didn’t appreciate her feelings. His friendship was her world.

Tanvi met Ram two years back. She felt a special connection at first sight of his. She liked him instantly and they became best friends. Tanvi always appreciated Ram’s honesty and caring personality. She found his caring attitude very attractive. She saw Ram coming. He had a pleasant smile on his face.

‘Good morning, Tanvi.’

‘Good morning, Ram. I got something to confess,’ said Tanvi.

Ram looked at her attentively.

She removed the small box from her pocket and gave it to him and said, ‘I am sorry. I can’t accept this ring. I can’t accept your proposal. You are my friend but I don’t love you. Can we be friends? I don’t want to lose your friendship. Your friendship means the world to me. Please, can we stay friends, yes or no?’

Moral: True friendship is when you walk into your house and your WiFi connects automatically.
