Forget Resolutions! Try this instead…

We all know that January is that time of year when we make resolutions to force ourselves to do things differently. We try the new diet, decide to go to the gym every day, and we create a plan to tighten our belts and live frugally. Have those resolutions worked for you in the past?
I’d like to offer a kinder, gentler idea to manifest your hopes and dreams. It’s a process I’ve used on a daily basis for the many years. I offer it to you as my New Year’s gift. Interested?
Start with Gratitude
I believe that we attract what we focus on and spend our time thinking about. Are your thoughts filled with what you don’t have, or worse, what you fear? If so, actively begin to use gratitude. I keep a journal where I write down what I currently have in my life that I’m grateful for. I also write about what I want to attract as if I already have it. Need some examples? Here’s a recent addition to my journal. “I’m so grateful to live in a beautiful home surrounded by wonderful neighbors and friends. My business is flourishing, fun and prosperous. My husband and I are looking forward to many great trips and vacations this year. We remain happy and healthy and feel much love and mutual support.”
Imagine You’ve Received Your Goal
Visualization is a powerful tool to manifest your desires. Imagine that you’ve been hired for that job you want. See yourself in the home of your dreams. Picture yourself both loved and in love with a wonderful mate, if that is your intention. I like to talk to myself (in my own mind, not out loud) as if this goal/desire is already in my life. Some people have difficulty actually picturing the outcome they wish. If that’s the case for you, simply feel the emotion of the event. You can experience excitement, delight, pleasure, exhilaration. Wow! What you wanted actually manifested in your life! Whoopee! You get the idea. As you do this for a few days you’ll begin to notice intuitive ideas and nudges will begin to come to you. Pay attention to those clues that pop into your mind.
Take Action on What Lights You Up
Re-read what you wrote on your gratitude list and then sit quietly with your eyes closed for a few moments. Ask your intuition “What am I being guided to do today?” Notice anything that comes to you that feels interesting, has energy, or simply “lights you up.” It may come in the form of an image, a feeling, a symbolic picture, a strong urge to contact someone, or an “aha” moment. This shouldn’t feel forced. It may not even make logical sense. That’s the way intuition works. Simply trust the impulse and take some action, large or small, in the direction of your guidance.
Have Patience and Keep Practicing
It’s rare that my hopes and dreams are manifested overnight. I’ve learned to take note of small hints and signs that my requests are being heard by the Universe. For example, one year my intention was to teach internationally. That didn’t happen immediately, but over the next month or so, I began to have people contacting me who lived in Europe, South Africa and Asia who wanted an intuitive reading with me via Skype. Then a publisher contacted me who wanted to print one of my books in Japanese. Soon after that, I had a request to teach in Japan. It took well over a year to manifest fully. Because of that I’ve learned to simply look for the signs of manifestation and not assume that I’m “doing it wrong” or that it isn’t going to happen. I allow the Universe to line things up for me in the right way, at the right time. I like to add the phrase “with grace and ease.”
How about you? I look forward to hearing about your results! I’d love to hear any tips or ideas YOU have about this manifesting process.
