The New Year

It is my belief
That a man
Can turn over a new leaf.
But it is easier (at any time
Of year)
To rhyme
Than it is to adhere
To resolutions made in wine and beer.

A happy new year to you all
And, if you should fall
Perchance my words you may recall.
