Resolution

[image error]To assert the failure

of human spirit

might naysay

love and warmth

you feel,

from people

who love

without question

or reason,

the wonder from whom,

I’ve always seen,

can be,

most fortunately

the same,

even when

life’s cruel irony

can turn charity

to misfortune

and every year

we’ll say we’ll do

what’s false

is our intention.

A gracious gift

tho’ toughest given

to return their love

without hope, desire

or expectation

then pay it forward

that all can feel

the wonder

of being human.
