Short Story - What you want to be?
Eight-year-old girl Mini flipped pages of a storybook. Her mother gifted it to her a week back. She liked seeing pictures in it. Her mother wanted her to develop reading habit at an early age. She decided Mini should read at least for 15 minutes before she went to sleep. After a week of tossing pages, Mini made her mind and decided read the whole storybook. She started reading it. She enjoyed it. After a month when storybook was about to finish, she informed her mother that she needed a new one. Her mother was very happy that the Mini was developing an interest in reading. Mini’s mother took her to a bookshop. Excited Mini browsed several storybooks. But she picked one coloring book instead of a storybook. Her mother didn't like it and she selected a storybook for Mini.
After a month when her mother took her back to a bookshop. Instead of selecting a storybook she again picked a coloring book.
Mini did coloring during her free time.
Every time her mother took her to a bookshop, she used to select a coloring book instead of a storybook.
Her mother realized that coloring is the activity Mini enjoyed the most. Her mother was happy that a small incident made her realize and understand her daughter’s interest.
Moral: During leisure time, children reveal what they want to be.
