December Daily® 2017 | Days 23-25
Welcome to
December Daily® 2017 | Days 23-25.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday celebration. Today I'm sharing the completion of my 2017 album.
I am one of those people that loves working on this project during the days learning up to December 25th and then I am totally ready to be done as soon after Christmas as possible. As I was working on my last few stories here I was encouraging myself to savor the last pieces of this project, but really I was so excited to get it done and clean off my desk. When I want to get something done I get back to the basics with a focus mainly on words and photos.
As always I want to thank you so much for being part of this community and for sharing your December with me. I'd love to invite you to participate in other memory keeping projects with me throughout the year including
One Little Word® (registration is open now for my 2018 workshop), Week In The Life™ (spring 2018 TBA), Day In The Life™ (three dates in 2018 TBA), and my regular storytelling that happens throughout the year using my Story Kit™ subscription (includes monthly education) and my Stories By The Month subscription.

Here's a look at how I finished up my storytelling for 2017:
My Day 23 ended up including three different pages as you'll see below.
First up was the circle/star page I created for the
Product Play Workshop. To that page I added a photo of Anna & Audrey that was cropped into a 2 inch circle and "embrace the magic" cork. On top of the top right circle I added the rubber "holiday cheer" piece from the Paislee Press Mini Kit.
Inside the Avery Index Tabs I stamped "remember this" and "so much love" from my Phrases Roller Stamp.
On the back of the circle/star spread I added a family photo of time spent with Aaron's family. I used a Slick Writer to write directly onto the photo and covered up a white line along the bottom of the photo with some washi tape.
Next to the family photo is my gratitude pocket that's holding my "thank you" tags. I used a Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen to write "thank you" on each tag and wrote a little bit about what I'm thankful for in this season of my life.
For Days 24 and 25 I decided to go big with a few of my photos and to type up my journaling and add it to the back of a couple more of the large gold foil tags.
I started by printing a large photo of what Aaron and I were drinking on Christmas Eve and added the gold-flecked cork merry + the "calm and bright" chipboard piece + the small white numbers.
Glasses are from World Market - we bought these for our wedding.
On top of the gold foil star tag I used one of the diamonds from the Main Kit (backed with white cardstock).
I typed up my story (created a 4 inch x 8 inch text box) for Day 24 and adhered it to the back of the tag. I found that super easy to do vs. running the tag through the printer this time. Either way works! On the pot roast photo I added one of the chipboard flags.
For Christmas Day I decided to follow the same idea with enlarged photos and the story on the back of the tag.
Love that I got those words in there - the beautiful basics of our day.
I used a circle punch to get the red star + the best parts from one of the journal cards. I paired that with one of the gold foil circles.
The last page of my album includes the "merry christmas" card + a photo of all our kids - these two pieces were adhered to the back of the enlarged photo on the other side. On top of the seam where the photo and merry christmas card meet I added a felt heart, a long chipboard piece, and one more cork starburst.
