What a book! What an amazing damn book! This was one of those reads that you start, and you literally cannot put it down. Reading while cooking? Check. Reading while eating? Check. Reading while watching hockey? Check. I tore through this breeches ripper in no time, held captive just as surely as our brave kidnapping victim, Nathanial.
There’s action, adventure, plenty of swashbuckling, sexy pirates, strong virgins, and snapping dialog. The attention to historical detail was obvious and the romance…Oh, the romance. Hawk and Nathanial ticked so many of my favorite trope boxes: May/December, enemies to lovers, angst, scorching hot sex scenes, and a happy ending. It’s a fantastic read and one hell of an adventure!
