The scoreboard in the south endzone of Reggie Bush Field, Tad Gormley Stadium, displaying the final score of the BMHS-Jesuit football game last night as the Crusader Band plays the Fight Song
Congratulations to the Crusader Football Team as they wrapped up district play on a very high note, defeating Jesuit, 28-27. Dante Butler had three rushing touchdowns and the defense had a pick-6. For game details, see Brother Neal Golden, S.C.'s play-by-play. Since the stadium has wi-fi, BNG has been doing live play-by-play.

Last night was also "Crusader Band Night," when the school invites middle school boys who play an instrument to come out and play along with the band. The boys go over to the school around 5pm, and have pizza with the band officers. Mr. Hurley, Mr. Caronna, and the seniors then work with the boys, teaching them the fight song and some of the "stand music" the band will play later at the game. The boys sit with the band members who also play their instrument.
When the band takes the field for halftime, Mr. Caronna takes the boys down to the sideline at the 50. The boys play the fight song along with the band. This is the fourth year BMHS has done "band night," and it's a big hit. Congrats to the band directors, as well as Assistant Principal (Admissions) Gabrielle Macaluso for putting in the time in on what is a great recruiting tool for BMHS.
