Merry and Bright!
We celebrate Christmas here at Casa Hernandez, and one of my favorite songs is White Christmas...okay, let's be honest, I probably haven't met a Christmas song I didn't like. Anyway, I love the verse "may your days be merry and bright." No matter how you celebrate (or not) it's a lovely sentiment, something to help us keep warm on cold winter nights. Something to cheer us as the days are shorter, to remind us to see the good things around us, especially when it's hard to do so.
For me, Thanksgiving marks the beginning of a beautiful season where the weather outside keeps me indoors and I focus more on what I have: my family, friends, my dog (fourth child, really), music, and memories...even our damn devil cat gets some love (whether he wants it or not).
