My review of The Brothers Cameron by Jesse V Coffey

If you've noticed, I've been a few posts short this week.  No, I'm not AWOL, my friends.  I'm up to my proverbial neck handling my courses for the fall at the local community college.  I just finished my third test in statistics in two days, and my brain is fried!  Honestly, the class barely makes sense, and I've had nightmares about it!  My boys got a good giggle from my uncomfortable night's worth of sleep, though.  As they said–they never knew of anyone who studied in their dreams!

Anyways, earlier this week I decided to take a spin into the world of swashbuckling heroes and damsel's in distress and read The Brothers Cameron by Jesse V. Coffey.    My review is following this post:

Image of J. W. CoffeyThe author was born in Kentucky, raised in Florida, and spent half her life in Ohio. Half southern rebel, half Yankee sass, she's managed to straddle both sides of the Mason-Dixon line and happily claims both as part of her wild existence. Having a varied employment history–working as everything from fast food cashier to telephone psychic, Ms. Coffey has managed to parlay her life experiences (along with what some would call a too vivid and active imagination)into her novels.

"I never just answer a question, I have to tell a story." And with critics and readers alike, she does it well.

Ms. Coffey is currently a member of ASCAP, the Erotic Authors Association, and writes three columns for the news website, Examiner.com/Lexington, as the Literary Examiner and Writing Examiner for the city of Lexington, KY, where she is a resident, as well as the National Indie Romance Novel Examiner. She also hosts an online radio show titled Edin Road Radio, where she uses her gift of gab to showcase new authors and their books.

Ms. Coffey writes as Jesse V Coffey, J. W. Coffey, and Meggie Chase.

Book Blurb:

The Brothers Cameron: An Opportunity for ResentmentStephan Cameron is impetuous and lusty; William Cameron is measured and romantic. Only one thing can divide the brothers–an attraction to the Lady Jessica Chynoweth, a flirty redhead who seems to have eyes for both–and Baron Joseph Turnbull as well. Only one thing can bring them together again–bringing the murderer of their father to justice. If it doesn't kill them first, they will!

Right now, it's available only at Amazon and Smashwords. It will be available everywhere else (B&N, iTunes/iBookstore, Sony, Kobe, etc) at the end of the month.

My Review:

The Brothers Cameron: An Opportunity for Resentment reminded me of one of those swashbuckling movies from the 1940s, filled with unlikely heroes, brothers that are polar opposites of each other, and a charmingly beautiful damsel in distress.  Stephan and Will Cameron are those two brothers–totally different in every way.  The darn Cameron family is on the bad side of the local Baron Turnbull, who decides he's had enough of them.  Stephan's childhood pal, Mary, has grown up to be a looker who's in financial straits.  A new arrival in town, in the form of the lovely Lady Jessica, is chasing after Mary's favorite men, and the boys are having a hard time getting along.

Drama!  Tons of drama, action, unexpected twists and turns, and a timeless magic fills the pages of this book.  I spent the free moments of my evening imagining a dashing Errol Flynn and Tyrone Powers playing these handsome boys in a cinematic version of the best action/adventure/romance I've read in a while!

Standing applause, Ms. Coffey, and a rousing 5 STARS!
