Your Top Ten List & Why You Struggle With Weight.

If you’ve ever watched David Letterman on late night TV, you’ve seen the infamous

Top Ten List.


It’s always on wacky subjects. Often if the list is focused on a particular celebrity or show,

the stars of the show will make an appearance and read the lists.  Sometimes they are really stupid, other times you’ll get a good belly laugh.


Doing this bit all these years I bet David Letterman doesn’t know there’s a POWERFUL mindset lesion

in the Top Ten List.


All of us have top 10 lists. The #1 question people ask me always around loosing weight is:

“Why am I consistently sabotaging my weight loss efforts?”

“What is the reason I can’t make myself stick to a plan?”


My reply is to ask them for their top ten list … specifically their top 10 values of what’s important to them about losing weight and their health?:


well, Lynn, I don’t have the time to prepare all these meals

I don’t like to exercise, i don’t want to have to take medication, i don’t  ….and on and on and on…


First of all, our unconscious mind doesn’t process negations directly.  Don’t think of your favorite dessert!  What happened?  Did you think of something yummy, sugary, salty and fattening?


Next – the unconscious mind doesn’t like to lose anything… its all in the language we use… ask yourself, What will i gain if i get to my goal weight?  Will you gain energy, health, mobility, better sleep, better sex, get into a size 10 or 8 dress?  Think of all you’ll gain!


(1) Write down YOUR top 10 reasons why you want to lose weight… as well as what’s important to you about losing weight.

(2) Write on another piece of paper  everything you’ll gain !
