Kyle Alexander Romines: A Sound In the Dark
I am a Romines fan!His first novel, The Keeper of the Crows was fantastic; filled with paranormal horror, I couldn't stop reading it. The same happened with A Sound In The Dark. This fast-paced novel will suck you in and you will not stop, won't be able to stop until you've finished it! I started on Wednesday, but had to go to church. I finished it off Thursday, and was like, "WOW!"
The story is about a young man, doing his best to deal with a devastating loss. Feeling he needs to rage against God, friends and life in general, he becomes a self-made hermit. But his friends won't relent. They talk him into a camping trip at a national park. But the forested land is a breeding ground for death. Something is out there, and it wants to pick them off, one at a time...Kyle Alexander Romines is a talented author and this is a cool read. This novel, originally started when he was in high school, happens so fast, is so surprising and thrilling- I felt like I was watching everything take place. The story consumed me and I couldn't stop reading. At. All. Except when I was forced to, due to an engagement.
Filled with twists and turns, I studied to keep up- I even managed to figure out two of the many factors to the story. With a proud chest, I set the book down, completed with a grand smile on my face and no one to share it with. Don't you just hate that!?
Anyway, check out Romanes' A Sound In The Dark- available everywhere! I'm off to the next read. Cheers! A Sound In the Dark
