I preached on Jonah 1 a few weeks ago at the River Church.  Here’s a link to the video

Some lessons from the passage that I ended with:

God isn’t on our side.

God invites us to be on his side.

And sometimes his side isn’t the side we expect.

God’s side is the way of life.
God cares what we do, and God responds.
God has a plan, a mission, and we’re part of it.

But he doesn’t always give us all the details.
Calling isn’t always what we want – but it is good
Ignoring God isn’t a private affair, it affects those around us
