grading exams

I want to tell my students, "If you're going to write the essay portion of the exam by cherry-picking information verbatim out of the multiple-choice section of the exam, PLEASE make sure that you're copying the CORRECT answer." But of course they'll all deny they did this.

One of the true/false questions: Hammurabi's Code was developed to keep state secrets safe from Assyrian agents.

And lo and behold, in the short-essay portion of the test that asked about Hammurabi's Code...

sigh.

Woo hoo! I actually remembered that Hammurabi's Code was a code of law from a class I had at least 20 years ago! (I looked it up to be sure, though.)
