When your friends decide to start some mess (and are, frankly, more observant than you gave them credit for).

I think of Jane’s writing as a less polished, early stages cross between Murakami and Vonnegut, highbrow while making fun of its own absurdity. She’s in on the joke that writing in labyrinthine patterns and references is inaccessible and isn’t above laughing at herself for it. But what do I know, I mostly read pirate novels.
