Writing Tip #3You have to know the rules to break them.
But please, for the love of all things holy, KNOW THE RULES. Grammar isn’t a suggestion; you need to know how it works.
There are small rules you can break for the sake of style. Like not having a complete sentences. And starting a sentence with and. You can gain a sense of pace in this format, but even so, it’s possible there’s a better way to write it.
If you just don’t follow the rules because you think you’re not bound by them, think again. Know the rules, exercise your abilities following them, and then MABYE break one or two if it makes sense.
Coming from someone who has to revise the blogs of a guy who can’t actually write, I can promise you this drives me up the wall.
