Bleeding Queens and juvenile judgments
I wrote a short story last night.
“there were four boys mainly of age between 11-14. from reputed rich educated families but with the same heinous thoughts for girls as molesters and rapists. One day, they’re having fun at a bar opposite to a medical coaching centre. From the glass view, they saw a girl getting out of that centre. They stared her like a pack of wolves who were going to tear apart.
And they did the same. She fought strongly but couldn’t win. And died later. When these four boys get caught, they’re sent to remand home for next three years as per juvenile law for under age criminals. After three years, they came out with no regrets and a bright future ahead.
But the family of that intelligent girl lost everything…happiness and dreams, hope and trust in judiciary.
And the story ends here!!!”
Isn’t that familiar to all of you. The story might has ended but the reality remains!
The question remains there, “whether a juvenile court can or should judge anyone’s crime by his/her age? And with a crime such as RAPE,
Should the culprit be given another chance?”
NO! NO! NO!
Answer is simple--- if a boy knows how to rape and instead of helping the girl, he’s enjoying this devilish act with fun and after getting, he shows no regret. That means he consciously knew what he’s doing.
Then how can our judiciary let go that sixth culprit of Nirbhya’s case, as him being a minor.
That minor who actually called out Nirbhya and her friend and gave assurance of the same they wanted to go.
That minor who was the third person to rape Nirbhya.
That minor when got caught and was sent to juvenile home for reformation, showed no regrets to any of the attendant there.
That minor who after doing the most dreadful act ---RAPE, is now living a life as a cook , after six years of Nirbhya case.
And still shows no regrets!!!
And those who lost everything was only girl’s family.
When will our judiciary understand that any boy after the age of 10, in this age of mobile and internet, knows almost everything including what is right and indeed what’s wrong and how it can be done!
Even a small boy of age 6 knows how to operate youtube.
Then, why was that minor who’s now a major, released after what he did, and helped that brutality.
When I asked my husband, “was the decision right?”
He answered, “ no, he was also to be hanged as well because if he can do such brutality at the age of 11-12, even after he’s reformed, nobody can take a full guarantee and nobody’s going to keep an eye on him for life. Sooner or later, the devil inside will wake up again. And that’s true!”
Firstly, I felt proud of my husband’s verdict but then I was ashamed of our judiciary who did let go a man ( as if now), who might had changed what happened that night. If he’s not urging to RAPE???
He could had stopped others or might had rebelled, or after Nirbhya and her friend were fighting against all others, this minor who identity hasn’t been revealed till date, might had helped them escape. But he didn’t.
There’re so many other factors also. Like, what happened that night in that bus, was confessed by all, but how can anyone assure that this man who’s a minor then, only followed the others. And did as per they said.
Like, he didn’t knew others intentions before Nirbhya and her friend got onto that bus, as the others told police that they’d tried him before, on another girl. He was playing a role of caller/host at that time. And he helped all others in this way.
As far as our judiciary is concerned, I think now it’s the time, when human rights commission should be on the women side. Or must think in a way, that no matter what you do, you cannot kill the devil inside!
Never!
A family lost their daughter, their dreams, their hopes and did’t get even full justice for her. And that too, not in unintentionally done car crash or some accident. But SHE’S BRUTALY RAPED.
Juvenile court released that minor by holding him as innocent at that age.
Wasn’t Nirbhya Innocent?
What’s Her Crime That She Got Terrible Death And He Got Freedom To Live ……AGAIN????
