Myth Mondays: Behind the Scenes with Mushroom Hunting with Eros by Kay Dee Royal

Hello Lucy – thank you for allowing me to give a few more details of why I chose Eros and the setting I used for my Seducing the Myth anthology short story, Mushroom Hunting with Eros.

I've always been seduced (love that word) by mythology, legends and urban tales. Guess it's the reason I prefer to write fantasy or paranormal fiction…and I most definitely love to read it. When I saw Lucy's call for submissions, a short erotica story about any myth or legend…well, I dropped my current project to answer her call.

My idea came instantly.

Lucy's request happened in the spring, the time of year for hunting the elusive morel mushroom. It's also one time of the year my husband and I spend together…a whole day driving to and walking through a number of forests.  We've done it for years.

So, my imagination sort of took over and sent me into the woods looking for mushrooms (LOL). My mind went straight to Greek mythology and which God or Goddess would I want to meet in the forest…and why would I want to meet them?

So, my 'why'…a married couple who has a number of years together under their belt, which most times makes for a content, no adventure love life…not a lot of affection or passion (speaking from what I've read, heard from others, and have experienced periodically).

Good – I have a married couple starving for passion (grins), so 'who' could help them get it back?

Cupid, of course! The famous Eros, with his golden bow and arrow of love & passion, and what happens in a real life situation in the middle of the woods with a husband and wife suffering from a passionless marriage?

Well, (big smile) you'll have to pick up a copy of Seducing the Myth to find out, because Stone and Alyssa would keep all their mushroom hotspots to themselves if I gave their secret away.
