Dealing with bullying and bullies

[image error] Being a victim of bullying is never fun. Whether it’s the kid on the playground who makes fun of you every day, or more extreme cases of cyber bullying, threats, intimidation, in a social circle, or in the work place, being bullied is hard to deal with. I was that kid on the playground, the little kid that the big kid always picked on. That same big kid followed me to high school and never stopped. As I grew older, I learned to wear a thick skin. But, I still felt sad and embarrassed.
 
In several my books, I’ve weaved in a character who is a bully and harms one of my heroines. I tired to show good ways of dealing with bullies. Aleena in Kingdom of Embers is the target of some bullying cheer friends as well as the school bully. Think You Know Me is about a college co-ed who is assaulted by a violent bully. Knowing what to do when you or someone you love is hard, so I’ve done some research and have some tips for you!

Bullying Survival Tips
Here are some ways to combat psychological and verbal bullying:Ignore the bully, walk away. Don't get angry.Don't react physically.Don’t respond emotionally.Remember, it's not your fault.Put your best foot forward.Build your own confidence.Talk to true friends.Create a support network.Keep records.Get help.Seek counseling.Eat right, exercise, to stay healthy.Read about bullying.Don’t think the bully will change.
