So – there was some great news via email last weekend.
The Western Writers of America (WWA) convention in 2018 is to be held in Billings, Montana - a town we stayed in during our 2011 visit to the Little Big Horn.
As the plans for our stateside trip next year had already been formulated it seemed we were destined to miss out.
I said to Ewa at the time if the WWA ever get around to holding it in Arizona we'd be there - no doubt!
So, last Saturdays email was joyous news indeed.
It seems AZ had originally been pencilled in for 2020 - but it's been brought forward, and it's now the venue for 2019!
Oh yes........
Be nice to make it to the convention - if only the once.

As far as the writing of Book 5 goes we're up in the 130k word area - which means I'm looking at a 'convenient' point in the near future to wrap this story up. For me the editing process seems to add anywhere between 5 to 10k extra words as flesh is added to the bones.
I'll give it 6 weeks or so before I start the first 'proper' edit.
Meanwhile I'm going to start on a follow-up to the 3rd book 'Wagon Mound to Santa Fe'.
Be good to see what other adventures I can place Alex and his two cousins into...... 😀
