My unique approach to a new book

Every year I have the same problem at Christmas time. I have six grandkids, and frankly, they already have everything, so it's always hard to find an unusual present for them. They range from six to fourteen, and all have different passions.

So, for Christmas, 2016, I came up with a unique idea. I told them I was going to write a book with them. Not only would they be the main characters in the book, but they were going to tell me what the story was about in regular creative meetings.

I started them off with a photo of a run down, derelict train caboose and told them they discovered it in the woods and decided to make it their clubhouse. "Now, tell me a story" I challenged them, and boy did they take the ball and run with it.

The ideas were unique, clever and plentiful. Every time we met I was dazzled by their creativity. Writing this story was one of the most exciting things I've ever done. And, I happen to think it's my best book yet.

The title is THE CURIOUS COUSINS & THE MAGIC CABOOSE, and it should be available in paperback and e-book format in December.
